Job summary

Altman Nussbaum Shunnarah Trial Attorneys in Boston seeks a paralegal for its Social Security Disability practice to manage disability claims from intake to hearing. You will work closely with attorneys, clients, medical providers, and the SSA to move cases forward and secure benefits.

This is a 40-hour week, on-site position with openness to a remote candidate with the right experience. The firm emphasizes client focus, accuracy, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years SSDI/SSI experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills for high-volume caseload.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with case management software and MS Office.
• Fluency in additional languages is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client intake and background on medical conditions and work history.
• Prepare and file SSDI/SSI applications, requests for reconsideration, and hearings.
• Complete SSA forms including disability reports and work history.
• Collect and organize medical records and opinions.
• Prepare cases for hearings with exhibits and briefs.
• Track case status across all hearing stages and deadlines.
• Communicate with clients, SSA offices, DDS, and medical providers.
• Manage documents through SSA's ERE portal and the firm’s CMS.
• Work a 40 hour work week.
