Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma required.
• Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university.
• Current state licensure in the state practicing.
• Experience in long term care or skilled nursing preferred.
• Possess effective communication skills to maintain positive relationships with residents, families, staff, physicians, consultants, providers and the community.
• Current knowledge of local, state and federal guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Direct all aspects of quality patient care, including evaluation and treatment, treatment planning, goal setting, family education and documentation according to guidelines.
• Provides professional treatment for speech, language, hearing, oral motor, swallowing and cognitive disorders.
• Plans activities and provides therapeutic services for speech and language disorders.
• Serves as a patient and rehabilitation advocate; participates in quality assurance and customer service activities.
• Perform patient evaluations and develop treatment plans with short- and long-term goals, per physician orders.
