Job summary

Lincoln Learning Center at York Learning Center (LIU 12) seeks Special Education Assistants (TA/PCA) to support students with special needs. Roles open across Autistic/Emotional/Behavioral and Life Skills programs. Prior experience not required; eagerness to learn, compassion, and teamwork are essential.

Positions are full-time, 7 hours/day, 188 days/year, with school hours 8:00 AM–3:30 PM. Competitive benefits accompany the role, starting July 1, 2026, at base rate of $18.91/hr plus $0.25/hr

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Current first aid and CPR certificates required.
• LIU-approved crisis management/intervention cert preferred.
• Must obtain PA Dept. of Education competency within one year of hire.
• Must complete 20 hours of professional development each year.
• Experience in an educational setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist a teacher to maintain a positive learning environment and support the education program.
• PCA supports student development in self-sufficiency, communication, social engagement, and mobility; assist with balance and motor skills.
