Job summary

SAN ONOFRE SCHOOL in San Clemente is hiring a Special Education Program Assistant I for a part-time pool. Work is Monday–Friday, 3.92 hours per day, with a diverse student population and a focus on supportive instruction.

The role involves assisting students and instructional staff with learning materials and activities, starting immediately. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with additional AA/college units or test for this classification preferred.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to completing the twelfth grade; and either an AA or 48 college units or pass the FUESD proficiency test for this classification.
• Experience working with people of diverse cultures is desirable.
• Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly desirable, preferably including children with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Assists students with a patient and friendly attitude and provides oral support in a non-judgmental, non-reactive manner.
• Assists instructional personnel with the development of a variety of instructional materials.
• Assist in the presentation of physical and digital learning materials and instructional tasks.
• Performs other related job duties as assigned.
