Job summary

Methodist Retirement Communities (MRC) in League City, TX is seeking a compassionate Speech Language Pathologist (PRN) to evaluate and treat communication, cognitive, voice, fluency, and swallowing needs for older adults in our community setting.

You will develop individualized treatment plans, provide evidence-based therapy, and collaborate with interdisciplinary partners to support residents’ communication and safety. A Texas license and relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree from an accredited speech-language pathology program.
• Current, unrestricted Speech Language Pathologist license in the state of Texas.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA preferred, as applicable to the position.
• Two to three years of experience in skilled nursing, senior living, or a related setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, cognition, and swallowing function.
• Interpret assessment findings and medical history to identify functional needs.
• Develop individualized treatment plans with meaningful goals.
• Provide evidence-based therapy for communication, cognitive-linguistic, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders.
• Monitor progress and adjust treatment strategies.
• Educate residents, families, caregivers, and team members on communication and swallowing strategies.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing, dietary, rehabilitation, and other interdisciplinary partners.
• Complete evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge documentation accurately and on time.
