Job summary

Muckleshoot Tribe HR in Auburn, WA, seeks a Transportation & Community Services Aide to deliver hot meals to home-bound seniors and provide on-site assistance to tribal members. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current and valid Washington State Driver’s License.
• Basic first aid.
• CPR.
• Office equipment operation (phones, computers, copiers, faxes, pagers).
• Confidentiality/HIPAA policies.
• Verbal and written communication.
• Some medical knowledge and skills.
• Knowledge and recognition of prescription drugs.
• Good communication with medical personnel and peers.
• Ability to make quick, sound decisions in emergencies.
• Recognizing diabetic shock and other emergencies.
• Interpersonal relations.
• Multitasking and organization.
• Working in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Meeting deadlines and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Transports seniors/elders to medical/dental appointments and shopping.
• Assists patients with way-finding to appointments.
• Assists in medication drop-offs for seniors unable to get to the pharmacy; picks up medications as needed.
• Responds to inquiries by phone and in person; schedules appointments as appropriate.
• Operates tribal vehicles including handicap van; assists patients in/out of vehicle.
• Keeps schedule book and allocates travel time.
• Data entry of transportation and services rendered (TAMS system).
• May transport hot meals to home-bound seniors/elders.
• Familiar with local providers’ office locations, hospitals, and facilities.
• May perform a wide range of duties as part of tribal/community service.
