Job summary

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Pass a criminal background and fingerprint check.
• Compassion and interest in working with seniors.
• Flexibility in schedule, including weekends/holidays/overtime.
• Ability to relate and communicate with residents, families and staff.
• Maintain a clean, neat, safe environment for residents and visitors.
• Meet state health requirements.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Maintain a current food handler’s card.

Responsibilities

• Supports dignity, privacy, independence, and a home-like environment.
• Performs day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned.
• Maintains high standards of cleanliness.
• Keeps assigned areas clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive.
• Follows safety precautions with tasks and equipment.
• Follows infection control practices when housekeeping.
• Operates and maintains housekeeping/laundry equipment.
• Works safely and recognizes potentially dangerous situations.
• Attends required meetings and trainings; stays current on tasks.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
