Meridian Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Cook in Effingham, IL. You will work with the Dining Services Manager on food ordering, preparation, and delivery, while upholding kitchen sanitation and safety standards.

The role emphasizes nutritional cooking, resident satisfaction, and collaboration with staff. Prior food service experience and a compassion for the elderly are valued, with background checks required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months' prior experience in a food service department preferred.
• Supervisory experience desirable.
• Obtain Food Handlers Permit as required by State regulations.
• Previous experience working with the elderly.
• Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
• Must demonstrate the ability to work responsibly as a team member as well as an individual.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors and the general public.
• Must meet all health requirements and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Order, prepare, and deliver food as directed by the Dining Services Manager.
• Maintain kitchen sanitation and manage supplies and equipment.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents and staff.
