Job summary

Covina Court Senior Living is seeking a dependable Cook to prepare fresh, nutritious meals for residents. You will follow planned menus and dietary requirements, maintain high food safety standards, and work closely with the care team to meet residents' needs.

The role is part-time with Saturday-Sunday shifts. Candidates should be able to stand for extended periods, lift light loads, and contribute to a positive kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Cook, preferably in senior care, healthcare, or institutional food service.
• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and safe handling practices.
• Ability to follow recipes, menus and dietary instructions.
• Reliable, organized, and able to work independently or in a team.
• Compassionate and respectful with senior residents.
• Food Handler certification preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook daily meals according to planned menus and dietary requirements.
• Ensure meals are nutritious, flavorful, and well presented.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and kitchen procedures.
• Accommodate special diets, allergies, and resident preferences as directed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen.
• Monitor food inventory and communicate supply needs.
• Properly store, label, and rotate food and ingredients.
• Work closely with the care team to meet residents' dietary needs.
• Assist with cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and work areas.
