MorningStar Senior Living in Hillsboro, OR is seeking a Cook to prepare nutritious, appetizing meals for residents in a supportive, mission-driven community. The role covers cooking, portion control, and adherence to recipes within safety guidelines.

This full-time/part-time position offers a pay rate of $23 per hour with non-exempt status and a schedule to be discussed at interview. Weekend work is required; benefits, including health coverage and retirement options, are available.

Formación

• High school diploma or ability to read and write English.
• Experience in the dietary department of a health care facility preferred.
• Ability to prepare and cook a variety of foods in large quantities; awareness of special diets, timing, and portion control.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare, cook, season, and serve meals that are nutritious, balanced, and visually appealing.
• Follow menus, standard recipes, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Estimate quantities, monitor portions, and minimize waste while serving residents.
• Prepare ingredients (wash, trim, cut) and ensure timely meal service.
• Maintain food-handling safety and proper cooking times for meats and other items.
