MorningStar of Kirkland is seeking a part-time Cook to prepare and serve nutritious meals for our residents, following menus and standard recipes to ensure quality and safety.

The role supports a caring culture with shifts on Sunday 9am-3pm, Monday 4pm-8pm, and Tuesday 4pm-8pm, with a pay range of $25.00–$28.00 per hour and non-exempt status. Join a team that values service and quality in daily living for residents.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma preferred, but at the minimum the ability to read and write English.
• Experience: Previous experience in the dietary department of health care facility preferred.
• Job Knowledge: Ability to prepare and cook a variety of foods in large quantities; aware of special diets, seasoning requirements, cooking times, temperature controls; able to estimate quantities and minimize waste.

Responsabilités

• Handle and prepare food that is palatable, appetizing, and attractive.
• Comply with meal schedules.
• Follow standard recipes and make independent decisions in line with experience.
• Understand proper food-handling techniques and hazards of improper handling.
• Be familiar with seasoning and cooking time requirements.
• Estimate quantities and portion servings for residents.
• Prepare foodstuffs for cooking and portion control.
• Taste, smell, and observe food to ensure conformity with recipes and appearance.
• Serve food according to dietary guidelines and check trays for completeness.
