Westminster Assisted Living & Memory Care of Decatur is seeking an experienced Cook to prepare nutritious, high‑quality meals for our residents. Join a culinary team dedicated to dietary accuracy, presentation, and resident satisfaction.

Responsibilities include cooking per menu plans, ensuring food safety, serving meals timely, and collaborating with the Dietary Manager. Prior senior living or healthcare kitchen experience is preferred; HS diploma required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Previous cooking experience in senior living, healthcare, or restaurant setting preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety standards.
• Ability to follow recipes and meal plans; strong organizational skills.
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Prepare and cook meals according to menu plans, ensuring nutritious and appetizing dishes.
• Meal Service: Serve meals promptly with consistent quality, portions, and presentation.
• Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen environment per food safety rules.
• Team Collaboration: Work with Dietary Manager and kitchen staff; assist in training new staff.
• Inventory Control: Help track supplies and report shortages to Dietary Manager.
• Resident Engagement: Accommodate special dietary requests and preferences.
• Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations and proper sanitation practices.
