Job summary

Down Care and Rehab in Downs, KS is hiring a full-time Cook to join our compassionate dietary team. You will prepare meals for residents in accordance with regulatory guidelines and contribute to a warm, supportive living environment.

Qualifications

• Must have ability to perform basic arithmetic, understand measurements and follow written and oral instructions.
• Cook experience preferred but not required. A willingness to learn is needed.
• Solid communication skills, attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with residents, vendors and team members.
• Experience in a geriatric nursing facility is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals for residents in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
• Ensure the quality and temperature of food items.
• Maintain safety and sanitary conditions and follow company policies and procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service and build relationships with residents, their families, visitors, and colleagues.
• Be a dependable team player and contribute to a caring environment.
