Job summary

Mercy Retirement & Care Center in Oakland is seeking a compassionate Resident Assistant/Caregiver to support residents with dementia and assist with activities of daily living. You will escort meals and activities, document care in the electronic charting system, and report any changes in residents' condition.

Qualifications

• Experience in long-term care, home care, or related field preferred.
• Current First Aid Training and Certifications (per CA Title 22 regulations).
• Working knowledge of computers and typing, sufficient to use computerized Point of Care and other systems.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care and services to residents with dementia according to individual plans.
• Helps residents with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility).
• Provides meal and activity escort assistance and maintains a clean, orderly living area.
• Documents care through electronic charting and reports changes in residents' condition.
• Communicates with residents about their needs and responds promptly.
