Job summary

City of Florissant, MO seeks a part-time bus driver to operate F.L.E.R.T., disabled, and senior buses. You will transport passengers, assist with boarding, and perform daily maintenance and safety checks. This is a safety-sensitive role requiring responsibility and calm handling of diverse situations.

Experience driving large vehicles is preferred; applicants must have a valid Class C CDL with Passenger/Bus endorsement and be able to lift up to 25 lbs. Evening/weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to effectively meet and deal with the public; strong written and verbal communication.
• Proven experience driving buses or large vehicles preferred.
• Excellent driving skills and a clean driving record.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical ability to assist boarding/disembarking passengers.
• Flexibility to work part-time hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate the daily operation of the F.L.E.R.T., disabled, and Senior Citizen Buses with minimal supervision.
• Transport Senior Citizens, disabled persons and other passengers within the City of Florissant.
• Cautiously drive bus equipment and assist passengers entering/exiting the bus.
• Perform daily driver maintenance on buses and keep First Aid kits.
• Maintain daily logs of safety checks and passenger pick-ups/deliveries.
• Coordinate daily door-to-door pick-up schedule with appointments by phone.
• Coordinate with Senior Office in all emergency scenarios and provide assistance to passengers.
