Job summary

Enid Public Schools Transportation in Enid, Oklahoma is seeking a Bus Monitor to support students, including those with special needs, on school routes.

Under supervision, you will monitor conduct, assist students entering and exiting the bus, and enforce safety rules. This is a part-time 174-day position with EPS negotiated benefits.

The role reports to the Director of Transportation and Bus Driver, with opportunities to train in procedures for working with students with special needs.

Qualifications

• Skill in working with students with special needs.
• Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and school system policies and procedures.
• Ability to gain respect and cooperation of students, parents, administrative officials and others; to maintain discipline; to attend training in the procedures of working with students with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Monitors the conduct of students between pick-up points and school.
• Aids the students with special needs upon entering and exiting the school bus.
• Reports all discipline problems to the school bus driver.
• Enforces regulations against smoking and eating on the bus.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
