Job summary

Applitrack in Byron Public Schools is seeking a Bus Paraprofessional to supervise and assist students during transportation. The role works with the bus driver and school staff to ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive ride for every student.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience working with children or students is preferred.
• Ability to work cooperatively with students, families, bus drivers, teachers, and other staff.
• Ability to remain calm and supportive when assisting students with behavioral or other needs.
• Must be able to meet district requirements for employment and transportation personnel.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students while riding the school bus.
• Assist students with safely boarding and exiting the bus.
• Provide additional support to students who require assistance during transportation.
• Help maintain a safe and respectful bus environment.
• Follow student safety plans, transportation procedures, and district policies.
• Communicate student concerns or incidents to the bus driver and appropriate school staff.
• Assist with transitions between the bus and school.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding students and their needs.
