Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake in Webster, TX seeks a Registered Nurse for the Observation department. This PRN role requires delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with nursing standards and collaborating with physicians, the care team and hospital councils to improve outcomes.

You will assess patients on admission and each shift, document care, administer medications, educate patients and families, and advocate for safe, compassionate care.

Qualifications

• RN licensure and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 30 days of start date.
• Associate Degree required for RN practice.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition at admission and during each shift, reporting changes promptly.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor responses, and document care.
• Respond to patient requests and anticipate needs to deliver timely care.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, and follow-up steps.
