Job summary

The Center for Alcohol & Drug Treatment in Duluth, MN seeks a compassionate Clinical Assistant for the men’s Residential Treatment Program. You’ll support the treatment team with daily operations, monitor progress, and help ensure a safe, therapeutic environment while assisting with record-keeping and patient care tasks.

You will work under the RN Supervisor for medications, receive ongoing training, participate in team meetings, and provide emotional support to residents on a part-time 3rd

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• CPR & First Aid certification before direct patient contact.
• Must pass background studies issued by the Minnesota Department of Human Services.

Responsibilities

• Complete paperwork related to admissions or discharging patients.
• Observe/monitor patients to detect behavior patterns and problems; intervene as necessary to maintain a safe and orderly facility; and report observations to appropriate staff.
• Perform vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, etc.) on patient as instructed.
• Respond to crises and emergencies as trained and outlined in policy and procedure, including notifying the appropriate supervisor.
• Document what happened during a shift, including behaviors or conflicts, in appropriate logs.
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
• Administer or monitor medications, as trained and certified by the RN Supervisor.
• Perform light housekeeping and transportation duties.
• Other duties as assigned.
