Job summary

Viva Senior Living in Harrisburg, PA is seeking a Resident Care Aide to assist residents with daily living activities and provide compassionate care within the Clinical Services department. You will follow the Care Plan, document observations, and support the Wellness Director and staff.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, strong English communication, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and respond to emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and care for residents on a daily basis according to work list and assignment.
• Provide assistance with activities of daily living per Care Plan (bathing, dressing, oral hygiene, etc.).
• Observe and record assistance with medications as assigned.
• Report refusals or reactions to care or medications to supervisor on duty.
• Direct residents and family members to appropriate staff for other needs or information.
• Assist with ordering room service for residents when needed.
• Record observations of changes in resident condition and transfer to next shift via 24-hour report.
• Be patient and communicate clearly with staff, residents, and visitors.
• Provide dining room assistance as needed.
• Answer emergency calls promptly and complete required paperwork afterward.
• Maintain cleanliness of resident apartment/room and manage supplies as needed.
• Identify and report hazards to maintain safety; observe for repairs needed.
