Job summary

Bassett Healthcare Network is seeking a Resident Aide to assist the Nursing staff with non-technical tasks in a patient-centered facility. You will help with transports, nourishment delivery, linens, and call-light responses as part of a collaborative care team.

The role emphasizes confidentiality, HIPAA compliance, and participation in required in-services. Education is a High School Diploma or GED with preferred alignment to clinical support responsibilities in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Education/Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in resident transports throughout the facility and to and from medical appointments as assigned.
• Assist in passing fluids and nourishment to residents after completing appropriate in-servicing under guidance of the LPN/Charge Nurse.
• Assist the nursing staff in performing tasks as assigned such as bed-making for empty beds only, straightening linens, cleaning closets and bedside tables, answer call lights and resident’s alarms.
• Attend facility offered feeding assistant course as scheduled (expected competency to assist feeding residents as assigned).
• All other non-technical duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing, Nurse Supervisor or Nurse Care Coordinator.
• Attend all required in-services and follow all department and facility policies and procedures including the use of personal protective equipment.
• Maintain CONFIDENTIALITY of all resident care and employee information and follow HIPAA and HIV regulations.
