Qualifications

• Graduate from a school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
• Experience in acute hospital setting preferred.
• Good communication, human relationship, and team orientation skills when dealing with co-workers, patients, families, physicians, and the general public.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification required upon employment.
• ACLS required, or willing to complete within first year of employment.
• PALS required, or willing to complete within first year if hired into the Emergency Dept.

Responsibilities

• Exhibits service excellence behavior and rounds on patients and families, providing updates and addressing issues.
• Delivers patient care using the nursing process for an assigned group of patients; CLIA-waived testing where appropriate.
• Accepts responsibility for direction of co-workers and support staff in patient care.
• Communicates pertinent clinical information to the care team and keeps patients and families updated.
• Coordinates and facilitates patient and family education.
• Participates in discharge planning and continuity of care documentation.
• Administers medications per policy and initiates emergency procedures under physician direction.
• Collaborates with physicians and other disciplines in the plan of care.
