Job summary

Baton Rouge General Medical Center is seeking a licensed behavioral health professional to provide evidence-based counseling for patients in residential and Intensive Outpatient Programs.

A Master's degree in a related field and Louisiana LMHP licensure (or supervised trainee status) plus 2 years of experience with addictive disorders are required; you'll conduct assessments, treatment planning, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support recovery.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience with clients who have addictive disorders.
• Current Louisiana LMHP licensure or eligible supervised trainee status.

Responsibilities

• Provides evidence-based substance abuse counseling for residential and/or Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) patients.
• Complete comprehensive psychosocial assessments and communicate findings to the healthcare team, patients, and families.
• Identify and respond to abuse, neglect, suicidal risk, and homicidal risk in line with regulations.
• Facilitate individual, family, and group counseling sessions as ordered.
• Serve as primary counselor for up to 10-12 residential patients or 20 IOP clients.
• Develop, monitor, and update treatment plans with progress notes and discharge plans.
• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning, care conferences, and discharge planning.
• Advocate for patients and involve families in care decisions.
