Job summary

Palms Care Center in Chowchilla, CA, is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our therapy team under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. You will help residents regain mobility, strength, and independence through targeted exercises and functional training.

Qualifications include a California PTA license in good standing, graduation from an accredited PTA program, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Current California Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in good standing.
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Skilled nursing facility experience preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for helping others achieve their highest level of function and independence.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-centered environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out treatment plans established by the Physical Therapist
• Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and mobility interventions
• Monitor resident progress and communicate findings to the Physical Therapist
• Accurately document treatments, resident responses, and progress toward goals
• Collaborate with nursing staff, therapists, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
• Educate residents and families regarding therapy programs and safety recommendations
• Maintain compliance with all facility, state, federal, and professional standards
