Job summary

The Center for Pain is seeking a dedicated Procedure Room Technician to join our team and contribute to providing exceptional care to our patients. You will support pain management procedures, prepare patients, and maintain a sterile, efficient work environment.

Responsibilities include assisting during procedures, documenting details, educating patients post-procedure, and collaborating with physicians and nurses to ensure safety and comfort. Competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a medical or healthcare setting is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle patient inquiries and concerns with empathy.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (MS Office, electronic health records, etc).
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift/move equipment as needed.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for procedures, explain the process, and ensure comfort.
• Assist during pain management procedures (epidural injections, nerve blocks, spinal cord stimulator trials).
• Set up and maintain equipment used in procedures and ensure proper functioning.
• Monitor patients and respond to vital sign changes or distress.
• Document patient information, procedure details, and observations accurately.
• Maintain a sterile environment and follow infection control protocols.
• Provide post-procedure instructions and patient education.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and staff for seamless care.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and safety standards.
• Pursue continuing education to stay updated on pain management advances.
