Job summary

The Center for Pain is seeking a qualified Procedure Room Technician to join a dedicated team in Birmingham. The role focuses on preparing patients, assisting during pain management procedures, and maintaining sterile, well-equipped procedure rooms.

You will monitor patients, document details, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and staff to ensure safe, efficient care. Experience in healthcare and strong communication are highly valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a medical/healthcare setting is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Proficient in basic computer skills and EHR usage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for pain management procedures and explain the process.
• Assist providers during procedures such as epidural injections and nerve blocks.
• Set up and maintain equipment for procedures; ensure proper working order.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and respond to distress or complications.
• Accurately document patient information and procedure details.
• Maintain a clean, sterile procedure room and follow infection control protocols.
• Provide post-procedure instructions and coordinate follow-up appointments.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and staff to ensure seamless patient care.
• Adhere to HIPAA and safety standards; participate in continuing education.
