Job summary

Qualifications

• Possession of a current or compact state license as a Registered Nurse issued/defined by Iowa.
• Basic Life Support certification within six weeks of hire (American Heart Association).
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three months of hire.
• Ability to read, write and speak English language.

Responsibilities

• Administers nursing care to patients; includes assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care plan with physicians.
• Delivers care guided by orders, protocols and professional judgment.
• Communicates effectively with staff, physicians, patients and families.
• Participates in ongoing clinical education and professional development.
• Keeps patient autonomy, dignity and rights central in care delivery.
• Uses hospital information system to process orders and retrieve patient data.
