Job summary

Prisma Health is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect specimens, ensure safety and comfort of patients, and accurately document in lab systems. You will verify patient information, label specimens, and assist with order processing across multiple lab areas.

You will perform point-of-care testing when assigned, follow safety protocols, and help keep the work area tidy while supporting uptime and patient service goals. Training and ongoing competency are expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent or higher
• Three (3) month training in phlebotomy
• In lieu of education/experience, phlebotomy experience or training may be considered

Responsibilities

• Collects specimens from patients and ensures safety and comfort.
• Verifies patient and specimen identification and labels correctly.
• Inputs and tracks information in hospital/lab systems and communicates with staff.
• Performs Point of Care testing and processes specimens as assigned.
• Maintains clean and organized work area and monitors supplies and documentation.
• Communicates with patients and staff professionally and promptly.
• Performs clerical duties related to lab orders and billing as required.
