Job summary

Frederick Health is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect specimens and enter patient demographics while upholding the organization’s mission, values, and compliance standards. You will follow SOPs to ensure specimen integrity and patient safety, and work with laboratory personnel to resolve unusual orders.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS/CPR certification, and phlebotomy training; a phlebotomy certification is preferred. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; phlebotomy training preferred.
• Current BLS (CPR) in compliance with site policy for new hires.
• Certification from approved phlebotomy program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens (blood, urine, culture) per physician orders and SOPs, ensuring specimen integrity and patient safety.
• Enter patient demographics for registration and order entry; resolve unusual test orders with appropriate personnel.
• Adhere to CLIA qualifications for moderate complexity testing when responsible for bleeding times.
