Job summary

Medical City Lewisville is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform phlebotomy procedures and obtain specimens for laboratory testing. You will greet patients, collect blood samples, label specimens, and ensure accurate data entry into the computer.

Qualifications include a diploma or GED, 6 months phlebotomy experience or clinical certification, and BLS within 30 days of hire. Prior acute care hospital experience is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• HR diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience or Certification through a clinical phlebotomy program may be considered in lieu of experience.
• Acute care hospital experience strongly preferred.
• BLS within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and instruct them in proper specimen collection methods.
• Draw blood specimens using finger sticks, heel sticks, or venipunctures.
• Label specimens accurately and enter data into the computer.
• Prepare samples for microbiology, hematology, serology, blood bank, and urinalysis.
• Assist with clerical duties by answering telephone calls.
