Job summary

IndependenceFirst in Milwaukee, WI seeks a dedicated Personal Care Worker to provide one-on-one personal care services to consumers, under the supervision of the Care Coordinator. You will assist with mobility, bathing, toileting, meals, grooming, dressing, and daily living tasks in the consumer's home or community setting.

The role emphasizes compassionate, confidential support, accurate documentation, and adherence to written plans of duties.

Qualifications

• Personal Care Worker must have adequate training in the provision of personal care services and in each skill that the personal care worker is assigned.
• Documentation of training is required.
• Previous experience may be accepted in lieu of formal training.

Responsibilities

• Assist consumers with getting in and out of bed.
• Assist consumers with toileting and incontinence care.
• Assist consumers with bathing or showering.
• Assist with eating and meal preparation.
• Provide grooming and personal care (mouth, denture, hair, shaving, nails).
• Assist with dressing and undressing and mobility.
• Care for eyeglasses and hearing aids and assistive devices.
• Support transfers and ambulation with gait belt, walker, or cane.
