Job summary

PM Pediatrics is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians and patients in a pediatric urgent care setting. You will greet patients, take histories, vital signs, and assist with procedures under physician supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and prior MA experience; pediatric exposure is a plus. Excellent communication and multitasking abilities are essential in a fast-paced clinic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience and/or education as a Medical Assistant.
• Knowledge of EKG placement and processing in children.
• Ability to obtain laboratory tests via nasal swab and venipuncture.
• Professional and friendly demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations.
• Greet and register patients as they arrive.
• Obtain medical history, patient vital signs, and intake.
• Prepare patients for X-rays.
• Perform and document routine labs, such as throat and urine cultures.
• Irrigate and assist with wounds.
• Assist in performing quality control testing in the lab.
• Maintain confidentiality and assist in patient care within scope of practice.
• Keep exam rooms and front reception stocked with supplies.
• Maintain waiting area cleanliness.
• Respond to emergencies and notify medical team when needed.
• Follow policies and report changes to management.
• Support service recovery when needed.
• Assist with splints and other procedures.
