Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant for the Long-Term Care department at Children’s Specialized Hospital in Mountainside, NJ. The Day shift provides direct pediatric patient care under RN supervision and supports the care plan with dignity and teamwork.

The role requires a valid NJ CNA certification and AHA BLS Provider credential, with about six months of experience preferred. Excellent communication and a service mindset are essential for this pediatric setting.

Qualifications

• Certified Long-Term Care Facility CNA certification is required.
• Must be listed on the New Jersey Nurse Aide Registry.
• AHA BLS Provider Certification is required.
• Six months of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care to pediatric patients as directed by the nurse and care plan.
• Support bedside care assignments and address patient needs promptly.
• Respond to patient call lights in a timely manner.
• Observe patient needs and communicate concerns to the nursing team.
• Collaborate with nurses and care team for coordinated patient care.
• Maintain a clean, organized unit and restock supplies at the bedside.
• Assist with laundry and unit needs as requested.
• Interact with patients, families, and staff with a strong customer service focus.
