Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Patient Transporter to move patients safely and compassionately throughout Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. The role supports clinical teams and requires strong communication and safety focus.

This part-time position spans day, evening, and night shifts. Candidates should be able to handle physically active work and maintain high standards of patient care and safety.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in and out of beds with the support of a nurse or PCT.
• Ensure patients are comfortable and safe during transit.
• Transport patients to and from hospital units and Imaging Modalities within expected timeframes.
• Maintain communication with the Transport Dispatcher and update transport status.
• Assist with bed management, cleaning beds, and removing oxygen tanks when not in use.
• Follow PPE and hand hygiene procedures and use two patient identifiers for patient safety.
