Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a part-time Per Diem transport assistant to move patients between departments. You will handle wheelchairs, stretchers, and bed transports with attention to patient identification and safety. The role supports multiple departments and requires courteous interaction with patients and staff.

The position offers shift-based hours, part-time status, and a starting hourly rate of $18.00–$21.33, with benefits for eligible colleagues. CPR is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate a positive demeanor and have strong verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to handle potentially stressful situations and multi‑task.
• Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from departments/units. Include patient identification, comfort and safety as you move.
• Care for and clean wheelchairs/stretchers; check oxygen and regulators as needed.
• Coordinate with other transporters to ensure smooth flow and share patient information with nurses and testing departments.
