Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Raleigh, NC is seeking an Inpatient Patient Transporter to move patients safely within the hospital and dialysis unit using wheelchairs or stretchers. You will restock supplies, keep areas tidy, and assist RNs as directed.

Responsibilities include verifying patient identity, preparing transport equipment, assisting with ambulation, delivering items, and supporting a clean, organized entrance. CPR certification and 0-1 years of related experience preferred.

• CPR Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensures appropriate identification of patients prior to shifting or transporting them.
• Learns patient name and destination, mode of travel, time, and other data per instructions.
• Ensures transport equipment (wheelchairs, stretchers) is in proper working condition before pickup.
• Lifts patients on/off beds, moving them using wheelchairs or stretchers.
• Guides or escorts incoming patients from admitting area to designated location.
• Keeps patient's luggage or personal belongings.
• Assists patient in walking to prevent falls.
• Delivers messages, mail, medical records, and other items to patient.
• Maintains order and cleanliness at the entrance point.
• May collect laboratory specimens, drops them off to laboratories, and picks up test results.
• Other duties as assigned.
