Responsibilities

• Safely transports patient throughout the hospital using wheelchairs, stretchers, beds, and other approved equipment.
• Responds promptly to transport requests and prioritizes assignments according to departmental procedures and patient-care needs.
• Uses two approved patient identifiers to verify the correct patient prior to transport.
• Communicates with nursing and receiving departments regarding patient arrival, delays, or concerns.
• Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and hospital policies.
• Cleans and disinfects transport equipment between patients and ensures equipment is ready for the next use.
