Job summary

Allina Health is seeking a Transport Aide in Minneapolis to ensure safe, efficient movement of patients and medical equipment within the hospital. You will support the health care team by coordinating transfers, maintaining safety protocols, and contributing to streamlined operations to improve patient flow.

The role is 0.5 FTE with 8-hour day/evening/night shifts and every-other weekend rotation, requiring adherence to union guidelines and strong teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience meeting required functional competencies as listed on the job description.
• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• 0–2 years of health care experience and 0–2 years of transport experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to designated treatments or procedures.
• Safely moves patients using appropriate transfer equipment and techniques.
• Coordinates transport timing to meet patient care needs.
• Communicates delays to patient care units and escalates emergencies when needed.
• Uses the electronic medical record transport system for documentation.
