Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital is seeking a Patient Transportation Aide on a PRN basis. Shifts are days, from 7:00am to 3:30pm, supporting timely and comfortable transport of patients, equipment and related items.

You will help ensure patients have access to care and a positive experience. As part of the Cleveland Clinic Akron General team, you will assist nursing staff with transfers, verify patient IDs, and maintain equipment cleanliness while upholding infection control practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Demonstrated interest and aptitude for patient care.
• Expressed genuine concern and care for patient welfare.
• Ability to lift and transfer patients with assistance as needed.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients and personal property using wheelchairs, carts and beds through admission, discharge and transfer procedures.
• Transport patients with/without IVs and oxygen to and from departments including therapy and radiology.
• Clean, sanitize and store transportation equipment and carts.
• Provide wheelchairs for staff and visitors, restock oxygen tanks and respond to transport requests promptly.
• Verify patient identification and assist with bedding or moving patients as required.
• Complete transport tasks and notify dispatcher of progress or delays.
