Job summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center in Clyde, NC, is hiring a Patient Sitter for a full-time role with a varied schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays. You will observe patients, communicate with the nursing team, and help maintain a safe, calm environment.

The position requires a high school diploma and AHA BLS certification, plus strong communication and observation skills. You’ll join a busy ED team focused on compassionate, high-quality care for diverse patients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Clear communication, listening and observation skills needed.
• Ability to respond swiftly and physically manage momentary stress.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient observation and input in care planning with the RN and team.
• Maintain standard of care through communication with care team.
• Assist in creating a safe environment for patients requiring close supervision.
• Complete duties under the direct supervision of the RN.
