Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina (MUHA) seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support a decentralized patient-centered approach under RN supervision. You will measure and document vital signs, assist with basic treatments, and help move and reposition patients to ensure comfort and safety.

Qualifications

• BLS required at hire; must maintain current BLS
• One year of patient care work experience in a health care facility preferred
• High school diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

• Keep patient rooms tidy and sanitized
• Assist patients with everyday needs (hygiene, bathroom, grooming)
• Monitor vital signs or EKG signals
• Assist nursing staff with basic treatments
• Ensure rooms have adequate patient care supplies
• Provide emotional support to patients
• Place patient on cardiac monitor
• Assist with other duties as assigned
