Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) CHS Family Medicine location seeks a Patient Care Technician to deliver individualized, goal-directed patient care under general supervision, applying the nursing process to support patients and families.

The role requires at least 1 year of patient-care experience or current nursing school enrollment, BLS certification, and ability to work rotating shifts. 36 hours weekly; on-site hospital setting.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year work experience in a PCT I position or patient care role in a health care setting.
• Current BLS certification required within 2 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Direct and lead other team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Deliver patient/family centered care respecting privacy, dignity, and cultural needs.
• Promote health teaching and patient education.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment and participate in professional practice activities.
