Job summary

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our Magnet-designated Nursing team and support inpatient care on a 42-bed unit specializing in head and neck cancers. You will work under a Clinical Nurse, help ensure patient comfort, and participate in essential clinical tasks.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, performing EKGs, collecting specimens, and collaborating with the team to support procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of healthcare-related experience in one or more of the following roles: Nursing Assistant (NA), Patient Care Technician (PCT), EMT, Medical Technician, Phlebotomist, or LPN
• BLS certification required by time of hire
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of a Clinical Nurse and assist patients in a timely and efficient manner
• Take vital signs, perform EKGs, and collect specimens
• Collaborate with the clinical team and provide assistance with procedures as needed
• Use basic computer and data entry skills to support clinical documentation
