Job summary

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our Magnet-designated Nursing team and support inpatient care on a 42-bed unit specializing in head and neck cancers. You will work under a Clinical Nurse, help ensure patient comfort, and participate in essential clinical tasks.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, performing EKGs, collecting specimens, and collaborating with the team to support procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of healthcare-related experience in one or more of the following roles: Nursing Assistant (NA), Patient Care Technician (PCT), EMT, Medical Technician, Phlebotomist, or LPN
• BLS certification required by time of hire
• Epic EMR experience preferred

As a member of our Magnet-designated Nursing team, you will provide support to the inpatient nursing staff while helping ensure the comfort and safety of our patients and their family members.**M17: Head/Neck Hepatobiliary**42-bed inpatient unit specializing in the surgical care of patients with head and neck cancers, complex reconstructions, and thoracic procedures. The unit also has telemetry monitoring capacity, supporting higher level specialized care with rapid interventions.
