Job summary

Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to support licensed nursing staff in providing direct patient care in a fast-paced setting. Under nurse supervision you will assist with activities of daily living, monitor patient condition, and help ensure a clean, safe environment.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, a current Maryland CNA license, and CPR certification. Prior direct patient care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 6 months experience in direct patient care preferred.
• Current Maryland CNA certification (CNA I or CNA II) and CPR certification.
• Must be able to read, write, understand basic instructions and perform simple calculations.

Responsibilities

• Provides care, comfort, and safety for assigned patients under nurse supervision.
• Assists with activities of daily living (bathing, toileting, grooming, feeding).
• Documents observations and reports changes to nursing staff promptly.
• Measures vitals and assists with routine care tasks as directed by the nurse.
• Uses infection control practices to protect patients, self, and equipment.
• Prepares and maintains patient rooms, supplies, and equipment.
• Assists with admissions, transfers, and discharges as directed by nurses.
