Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) seeks a flexible Patient Care Technician who assists nursing staff across units, supports patient transport, and helps with room preparation and patient comfort. This non-licensed staff member works under supervision and cares for adolescents, adults, and the elderly according to unit guidelines.

Responsibilities include collecting vitals, recording data, and ensuring patient safety while maintaining clean, well-stocked units.

Qualifications

• CCHT certification (for dialysis unit only).
• High School Diploma, GED, or high school transcript showing completion of at least the sophomore level of high school.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and report basic patient data (vital signs, weight, skin condition).
• Assist in positioning, mobility, ADLs, and patient comfort per procedure.
• Monitor intake and urinary output; document on forms.
• Identify and report changes to licensed staff.
• Organize patient care and prioritize according to orders.
• Performs basic therapeutic procedures and reports patient response to nurse.
• Greet patients and families; explain procedures prior to start.
• Maintain accurate documentation in IT systems and relay requests to staff.
