Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a non-licensed staff member trained for flexible nursing support and transport duties. The role includes clinical tasks such as patient care, room stocking, and unit duties under the supervision of the shift primary nurse.

Includes adolescent to geriatric patients with emphasis on safety, accurate documentation, and collaboration with nursing staff. Training provided if needed; in-house PCT Academy for qualifying candidates.

Qualifications

• Must have CCHT certification (for dialysis unit only).
• High school diploma or GED completed.
• Eligible for NGHS in-house PCT Academy if needed.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and report basic patient data (vital signs, weight, urine output).
• Assist with positioning, ADL, mobility and comfort per procedure and direction.
• Record intake and output; monitor patient status changes and report promptly.
• Perform basic therapeutic tasks under supervision of licensed staff.
• Answer phones politely; relay orders and coordinate with care team.
• Transport patients and assist with unit operations and supply distribution.

PCT experience or academy

Bi-lingual (English/Spanish)

Education
