Job summary

Qualifications

• Active Nebraska CNA credential required.
• CPR certification required; EMT may substitute in ED.
• Maintain clinical competency and annual skill verification.
• Knowledge of general hospital processes and procedures.
• Proficient with EMR and basic computer use.
• Strong communication, teamwork and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care under RN supervision and perform routine nursing tasks.
• Obtain and record vitals, height, weight and glucose; report results.
• Assist with ADLs and feeding; transport patients as needed.
• Label and secure patient belongings; keep rooms safe and uncluttered.
• Participate in Hourly Patient Rounds and provide close observation.
• Collect, label and transport specimens to the lab.
• Assist with dressing changes, wound care and splinting as directed by RN.
• Document care in the EMR and follow infection control practices.
