Job summary

Prisma Health is seeking a patient care helper to support Registered Nurses in providing basic patient care in the Richland Hospital facility. Duties include hygiene, nutrition, mobility, elimination, and vital signs documentation.

Experience with CNA or CMA training is preferred, and completion of PrismaHealth unit secretary training within 90 days of hire is required. Day shift in the 8W Accountable Care Unit offers an opportunity to contribute to patient care excellence.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Completion of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) course or nursing fundamentals from an accredited organization is required.
• Previous CNA or CMA or related experience is preferred. One year hospital clerical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists patient with needs associated with personal hygiene (bathing, washing, dental care).
• Assists with nutrition and feeding (setting up meals, feeding, hydration).
• Assists with ambulation and fall prevention under RN direction.
• Assists with elimination (bathroom access, bedpan, commode, urinal) and tracks inputs/outputs.
• Accurately completes and documents patient vital signs and reports abnormalities to the RN.
