Job summary

Atlantic Health System in Summit, NJ is seeking a compassionate patient care assistant to support doctors and nursing staff in meeting basic patient needs. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and help with mobility and post-care tasks in a collaborative hospital setting.

The role involves assisting with EKGs, phlebotomy, and glucose monitoring, while communicating changes to the RN and maintaining phlebotomy equipment.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, dressing.
• Obtain and record vital signs, weights, and heights.
• Assist patients with mobility: ambulation, transfers, ROM activities.
• Perform post mortem care.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy and blood glucose monitoring.
• Observe and report changes in patients' condition to the RN.
• Maintain phlebotomy equipment and inventory.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Patient, compassionate nature.
• Ability to operate as part of a team, alongside physicians and nurses.
• Proficiency in computer-based data management programs and information systems.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, dressing
